Ardmore Joins the New Outpatient Facility and Administration Building Project (Cook County Health and Hospital Systems-Now Stroger Hospital) Planned to Open Mid-2018

Chicago — Ardmore, a regional engineering firm, joins  the Clayco and CBRE Team for the Phase One programming efforts of the new outpatient facility and administrative office building planned for the Cook County Health and Hospital Systems Central Campus. Ardmore’s role includes survey and construction management. The overall facility is expected to open in mid-2018.

The Clayco and CBRE Team will identify and implement the core medical needs program including:

  • New outpatient clinical space replacing the current outdated Fantus building
  • Physician and administrative offices replacing the administration building on Polk Street, and
  • Related conference facilities, amenities and parking.

Phase One involves the programming and schematic design effort for the clinical and office spaces. Ground breaking is anticipated during the first quarter of 2017. Phase Two involves the final design and advancement stage with the planned completion in the second quarter of 2018. The estimated cost of the project is $100 million.

Cook County Hospital, renamed to Stroger Hospital, has been widely recognized, and remains today, one of the world’s great teaching hospitals attracting physicians nationally and serving the health care needs of the city and the region.

Gensler/Forum Studio is serving as the project’s architect and Christner is serving as the project’s planners. Ardmore joins the Clayco/CBRE Team as a M/WBE team member.
