Chicago — Ardmore, a regional engineering firm, will perform Resident Engineering with Supervision of a nine- member staff for Oversight of the CTA’s O’Hare Blue Line Track Construction Renewal Project. The project value is $100 million. The project involves overseeing CTA construction from the North Portal of the Kimball Subway to the O’Hare Subway Tunnel Station.
The total project includes activities over approximately 111,700 lineal feet of single track including the removal and replacement of all deteriorated oak track ties, worn out rails, fouled ballasts, and the entire 600 Volt DC contact rail(3rd rail) system within the entire project work limits. The project also includes replacement of all existing mainline direct fixation(DF) fasteners and the removal of signal impedance bonds from their in-track location and re-installation to the outside of the track.
